Valentino Haute Couture Show Spring Summer 2022
VALENTINO HAUTE COUTURE SHOW SPRING SUMMER 2022
Based in The Place Vendôme, Valentino's 2022 Spring-Summer show captured the attention of fashion enthusiasts all over the globe. Pierpaolo Piccioli, Valentino's Creative Director, dreamed the "Anatomy of Couture," and brought it to life with the Spring-Summer show. The show included women of different physiques and age ranges to display the contemporary beauty of the world. The goal of "Anatomy of Couture" was to express a diverse range of beauty paying tribute to all displays of beauty.
Decoding the Valentino Fashion Show
The opening number was worn by Kristen McMenamy. The black cocktail dress was seductive, yet elegant. It was a quick flashback to high fashion in the 1980s. Paired with racing gloves and stockings, the elegant ensemble was the perfect opener to the other outfits. While the opening number may have been black, Piccioli ensured there was plenty of color coming up. Bold and bright colors made their debut on the gowns and evening dresses. From fluorescent green to neon pink, there was no shortage of eye-popping color. In true Valentino fashion, the color always looked regal. The looks remained chic, even with extremely bright colors. This was due in part to the gorgeous silhouettes, crisp tailoring and fabric.
Some of the other most notable pieces included an off-the-shoulder long heliotrope purple gown, a low neck indigo sequin gown and a one-shoulder deep sapphire long train blue top. For the sake of not spoiling the looks, these are just a few of the pieces that stand out the most. Perhaps what makes these pieces so spectacular is their shape. The geometric shapes and second-to-none tailoring were two elements that lasted throughout the show. Every piece looked as though it was designed specifically for the model. All the bold colors, as diverse as they were, seemed to effortlessly flow from one look to the next. The entire collection was a cohesive masterpiece from the mind of Piccioli.
Evening-wear was extravagant, as everyone expects from a Valentino show. From fishtail skirts to sheer sequin gowns, the show was a perfect balance of elegance and attitude. The embellishments and details were over-the-top, yet subdued. The pieces were incredibly designed, yet not overbearing at the same time. Valentino's 2022 Spring-Summer show will be the standard for award shows, red carpets and many other public formal events this year. Inspiration from this show can be used and applied for almost every occasion. Fashion enthusiasts all over the globe can appreciate the refined, fun luxury of Valentino.
